THE DARFUR/SUDAN PEACE NETWORK: FUNDING INFORMATION
Funding Information & Special Thanks

A special thank you to our most generous donors.
We received a start-up grant and six month fund matching opportunity from the American Save Darfur Coalition in early 2007, without which we could not have started the organization. Please note that the Darfur/Sudan Peace Network, even when it was known as Save Darfur Canada, was always a separate and independent organization from Save Darfur in the USA. The American Save Darfur have been a generous and flexible donor that has not conditioned its support on the positions or approaches taken by the Darfur/Sudan Peace Network.

Several noteworthy groups have done considerable fundraising to support the Peace Network's work, including: the Winnipeg Run for Darfur organizers, the John Abbott College Activists, the Montreal Institute for Public Affairs , and students from the McGill University Schulich School of Music. The students involved in the Darfur Challenge have also made outstanding fundraising and awareness raising efforts in support of the Darfur/Sudan Peace Network and War Child Canada. In another important effort, the students at Huron Heights Secondary School organized an amazing fundraising and awareness raising week that has done a great deal to advance our work in 2009.

The Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) at Concordia University has also been very supportive of our work in non-financial terms.

We do not require organizations to pay fees or make regular financial contributions in order to be members of the coalition. Our flexible structure is designed to keep membership and participation accessible to all.
